Inspired by Anita Sarkeesian’s Video Game Tropes vs Women, I wanted to pitch a Zelda game where Zelda herself was the hero, rescuing a Prince Link.
Clockwork Empire is set 2,000 years after Twilight Princess, and is not a reboot, but simply another iteration in the Zelda franchise. It just so happens that in this case, Zelda is the protagonist. I’m a very big Zelda fan, and worked hard to draw from key elements in the continuity and mythos.
This concept work is meant to show that Zelda as a game protagonist can be both compelling and true to the franchise, while bringing new and dynamic game elements that go farther than being a simple gender swap.
Hope you like it!
Why are all her outfits so masculine? Where is all her hair? Where is her crown or recognizable designs? It feels really weird that you basically just made her into a man instead of keeping all of the features she has as the princess. There’s nothing wrong with feminity but there’s a reason her name is “Princess Zelda” and not “Gender ambiguous Zelda” or “Prince Zelda.” Even Sheik wore an incredibly form fitting outfit with design elements from her princess clothing despite it making her look like a man. This feels really lazy and part of the trend that seems to just be people gender bending existing male characters instead of creating capable female ones. Why can’t she have long hair? Why can’t she have a fashion sense? Why can’t she take pride in being a princess, a woman, and a hero?
It’s because women are weak and should aspire to be like men right? :I
(Also, all designs are automatically horrible once you start trying to mix stupid steampunk aesthetics into it. Zelda has never had anything remotely steampunk in any game unless you count a cartoon train or boat as “steampunk”)
can you imagine the tardis in a different colour

BIkers Against Child Abuse Helps Make Abused Children Feel Safe Again
“A biker’s power and intimidating image can even the playing field for a little kid who has been hurt. If the man who hurt this little girl calls or drives by, or even if she is just scared, another nightmare, the bikers will ride over and stand guard all night.
If she is afraid to go to school, they will take her and watch until she’s safely inside.
And if she has to testify against her abuser in court, they will go, too, walking with her to the witness stand and taking over the first row of seats.”
During one such testimony, a little boy sat on the stand, testifying against his abusive father, who sat less than 10 feet away.
“Why didn’t you say anything before now?” Asked the prosecutor.
“I was scared.” The little boy replied, honestly.
“Why aren’t you scared now, what changed?” The prosecutor watched the little boy closely as he pointed to the front row of seats in the court room.
“Because my friends are scarier than he is.”
shit like this makes me have faith in humanity again.
